Latest Goss

At last there's a new competition so click on the 'competitions' page to enter. The first 3 correct entries will receive a copy of Ocean Pearl, book 2 in the Starfish Sisters series.

Soon Starfish Sisters will be an audio, talking book through Bolinda. They are making all the Starfish Sisters books into CD, tapes.

Lately I've been traveling around, speaking at schools and festivals. I've been to the Centre for Youth Literature, State Library of Victoria in Melbourne, Sydney Writers' Festival, Voices on the Range, schools in Warnambool down the Great Ocean Road and Brisbane, Kogarah Library PLUS I've just finished the second book in the Starfish Sisters series called Ocean Pearl.

The last competition was to find a name for the new book. Maddie from Wollongbar, NSW won a pack of books for her entries. Unfortunately her title (and Maddie sent in heaps of good suggestions) wasn't used because my publishers and I had to come up with a name urgently as they were printing the catalogue for overseas sales. So….. we thought of the name Ocean Pearl. The title really suits the story so it all worked out.

Aussie books often get sold to overseas publishing houses and often that means the story gets translated into that particular language. 'The Red Cardigan' is called 'Als de Dood' in the Netherlands and 'Flickan i rott' in Sweden. 'The Story of Tom Brennan' is currently being translated into Slovenian and Mandarin.

Later on this year, 'The Story of Tom Brennan' will be in e book format. I'm not exactly sure how an ebook works but it sounds cool.

Don't forget if you're a student or teacher looking for information or study notes for my titles you can find stuff by clicking on the 'about books' page on my website or go to www.randomhouse.com.au and follow the links to the teacher's resources and study guides. If there's anything else you need to know click on 'contact me' and send your questions through.

Is your class studying Shakespeare's play 'Much Ado About Nothing'? Have a look at the great new notes on www.randomhouse.com.au/readingguides that combines Faking Sweet and Much Ado About Nothing.
